Texture helped set up the Black Lantern Music in 2009, and is the curator of the site. ‘Aphasia’ is Texture’s debut solo EP, and part of a planned trilogy - The ‘Synaesthesia’ and ‘Parasomnia’ EPs will drop later in 2010.
Texture cites Warren Ellis, Grant Morrison, El-P, David Byrne and Kool Keith as the biggest influences on his writing. He makes loop-based hip-hop, with dubstep, electro, and lo-fi rock influences.
In 2008 Texture recorded Future Proof with Morphamish under the name Double Helix. The album was a futuristic, science fiction-inspired blend of hip-hop, dubstep and breakbeat. The duo are currently working on new material.
Texture is a founding member of the Chemical Poets, who released their first book in 2008 (Chemical Poets Manual 01, published by Red Squirrel Press). Texture is also the editor of Weaponizer - a website showcasing groundbreaking new fiction and non-fiction writing.
